Where to apply for a Schengen visa in Nigeria

From Nigeria, Schengen states split between three operators — VFS Global, TLScontact and BLS International (Spain) — with centres in Lagos and Abuja, plus a few embassies that take files directly in Abuja. Ignore the blanket "VFS handles everything" lists many blogs publish: France, Belgium and Italy use TLScontact, and Spain uses BLS. Apply for your main destination at that country's operator.

Where-to-apply FAQs

Can I apply for any Schengen country at any centre in Nigeria?

No. You must apply for your main destination — the country where you'll spend the most nights (or your country of first entry if nights are equal) — at that country's designated centre. Applying at the wrong operator gets the file returned as inadmissible.

How much is the Schengen visa fee in 2026?

€90 per adult, €45 for children aged 6–11, and free for children under 6 — identical for every Schengen country, paid locally in NGN. The application centre also charges its own service fee.

Do I book with the centre or the embassy?

For outsourced operators (VFS Global, TLScontact, BLS and similar) you book online through the operator's official portal. Where a country takes files directly, you deal with its embassy or consulate.
